Dogwoods

DC is known for it's famous display of Cherry blossoms, but I have to say that the real show stopper around here is the Dogwood. The beautiful flowering Dogwood- which is a tree, but happens to be Virginia's state flower- comes in many shades of pink and white.

We are lucky enough to have two of them in our front yard, and hundreds of them throughout our neighborhood. They are spectacular, and I just had to show them off!

It reminds me of that movie, American President, with Annette Benning and what's his face. He was going to send her the state flower but it was a Dogwood so he sent her a ham instead. LOL!!!

Seriously...so pretty!
