Summer Update

It has been far too long since I updated the blog. It's been a wild and crazy summer!
First, we decided to sell our house. We listed it, it sold on the first day, and we had about 3 weeks to move out!  We looked at some rental homes in the area, and decided on one in our same neighborhood, because we love it so much!  We now live just two doors down from our old house, which is both cool, and weird.

We looked at a few other houses that were a little bigger, had beautiful kitchens, etc... but decided that this house offered the least disruption to our lives. Jack's commute to work didn't change, our church group is the same, our lovely little neighborhood and friends... we could even keep going to our neighborhood pool.

So we moved.  It took us a couple weeks to get settled in, and we really like the new house.  Except for the beige paint, (I am NOT a beige person) it's pretty great.  We really love the big sunroom in the back- we can't wait for the Fall when it's cool enough to really enjoy it, with all the windows open.

So, this is our last year in the Washington DC area. We have about 10 months left.  It's hard to believe! We have made our bucket list, with all the things we still need to do and see before we go.  I'm feeling a little sad, actually. I really love it here... more than any other place we've lived.  I wish we could stay longer...

The good thing about selling our house early is that our move next summer will be so much simpler.  We can just pack up and go. Easy peasy.  And... our hope is that we will have a new baby in our family by then- so easy would be good.   (Praying hard that we get a baby soon!)

Leo is three and a half now.  He is so active, and has so much energy. My main job this summer has been to keep him busy.... it's been a bit of a challenge.  We've been to spray parks, and zoos, and parks and playgrounds, and on playdates, and lots of trips to our pool-- of course.  He is very excited to start Preschool again in a few weeks! He has really missed his little friends, his wonderful teachers, and all the fun things they do at school.  This year he will be going three mornings a week, instead of just two.  We can't wait!

Here are some recent photos of our summer fun...

Leo got his FIRST set of Legos. Can you tell he's excited?

I got a new camera- a lovely Nikon SLR.   I've been having so much fun with it!
So exciting!  (my face kind of looked like Leo's from this photo above)
This camera has been on my vision board for a long time.
